60s FORGOTTEN THINGS - "WELCOME TO THE WILDERNESS" (Sunnyboy66 Records - 2025)

One might think that the well has run dry for even the most dedicated curators of 60s garage compilations. Enter young aficionado, Achille Brunet, from a small village in France to dig deeper than other compilers and unearth an expertly curated selection of unheard gems. To a great degree, the tracks gathered herein have not been comped up till now (at least not on vinyl).

Obsessive 60s garage addicts will be unexpectedly contented with the crude guitar/organ folk punk of The Rejects "Hard Workin' Man" and "3 Hrs Til' Dawn"; the pounding jangle of The Real Thing "I Don't Need You"; The Age Of Reason's Dylan-esque folk punker "I'm A Free Man"; and the duo of swingin' go-go rockers from The Decades ("Thinking Of You" & "I'm Lovin' You"). Even from the depths of my own collection are a couple of tasty Texas teen punkers; The Panics "I Don't Know Why" and The Kasuals "Girl (You Better Stop Your Lying)".

Achille has already begun excavating a new batch of buried treasures for a second volume. Diehard garage geeks will want to keep an eye out for the next assemblage of long lost nuggies!
